With YouTube, you are just a search away from a video of a recipe you are looking to try, a technique to better learn, or even seeing experiments for best cooking methods for certain foods. The following are some favorites of mine that I think you can learn from as well:
- Binging with Babish
- Andrew Rhea is not a professional chef. An advanced home chef and he shows and tells it. While some videos are on meals one would never attempt, his basics series is a great launching point.
- Mythical Kitchen
- A child of the Good Mythical Morning web series, the Mythical Kitchen has recently grown into a multimedia channel of sorts. With special guests, interviews, and comedy bits, it is easy to miss some great recipes with a lot of explanation.
- Matty Matheson
- Professional chef and, now, actor, Matty Matheson is a classically trained chef with a down to earth demeanor and presentation. His series Cookin’ Somethin’ can lean into a bit much for the average home chef, but there are some recipes that are accessible. Additionally, his demeanor shows that a great cook does not need to be a super fancy, uppity kind.
- Danielson Williams
- A home cook that perfectly represents how cooking is like dancing to a great soundtrack. Merging good music with good food, he picks a record and cooks a meal to match. It’s hard not to listen to music while cooking, but Williams shows that great meals can be cooked anywhere (especially as his are all done in what appears to be an apartment kitchen).
- Molly Baz
- Renowned cook and cookbook author, Baz brings a hip and fun atmosphere to cooking. Her two cookbooks are solid but she also has a YouTube channel which features many recipes. It is handy since her own website does have a paywall for more exclusive recipes and videos.
